Every food business is different. We do not promise or guarantee that your food cost will reach any particular percentage, that your profit margins will improve by a certain amount, or that your menu pricing will produce any specific revenue. Results depend on many things we do not control, including your concept, location, supplier costs, menu mix, staffing, market conditions and how consistently the tools are used.
2. The toolkit is a starting point
PlateBook gives you a structured way to cost recipes, price your menu and track profit. It is not a guarantee of a finish line. Some operators see improvements quickly, some over months, and results can shift with ingredient prices, seasonality and business changes.
3. Benchmarks and examples
Where PlateBook refers to industry benchmarks (such as a 28-to-35% food cost range), it is to provide general context. Benchmarks describe averages across many businesses, not yours, and can differ by concept, region and food category. Nothing here is a claim that a benchmark guarantees a result for your operation.
